Maulana Muhammad Patel (Muhammad Bin Zahid)

Maulana Muhammad Patel (Muhammad Bin Zahid) was born and raised in Cambridge, ON. After obtaining his Ontario Secondary School Diploma from Galt Collegiate Institute in Cambridge, he travelled to Durban, South Africa and acquired his degree in Islamic Theology gaining unbroken chains of certification in Usool al Fiqh, Fiqh, Usool al Hadeeth, Hadeeth, and Tafseer as well as certificate of recitation in the 7 modes of Qir’ah.

He then pursued a post-graduate course at his alma mater, Madrasah Taaleemuddeen, Isipingo Beach, improving public speaking, authoring and translating articles, doing basic specialization in jurisprudence and gaining experience teaching children on how to be practical, ideal Muslims in the 21st century. He has lead Tara’wih since 2007 in Canada, the U.S., and South Africa. Maulana Muhammad Patel is a member of the Jamaiyyatul Ulama Canada, Canadian Council of Muslim Theologians (CCMT).

He has been a part of ilmHub’s Faculty for over three years teaching various topics within the field of Hadeeth, Usool al Hadeeth, and Fiqh. He also heads ilmHub’s “Halal Foods and Ingredients” project and runs www.askhalal.ca.
