School Setup

Alhamdulillah, ilmHub is please to offer a unique and specialized Qur'an Learning Service.

ilmHub On-Line Qur'an School has been established to supplement the core need of our time. We believe that most traditional and sound manner to learn Qur'an is through physical in-person education. The physical presence of the Teacher and Student gives a unique relationship wherein the uloom of Qur'anic recitation can be properly demonstrated in physical articulation of the Makharij, Sifaat and application of rules.

However, when the ideal is not available, or when we are subjected to restriction of physical gatherings, then the alternate of on-line teaching is viable necessity. ilmHub wishes to acknowledge that On-Line teaching is not our primary choice. We would indeed love to have the students in physical presence as is meant to be.

Our Syllabus [applies to both On-Site and On-Line Qur’an Schools]

We employ the syllabus of al-Qa’ida al-Nuraaniya which is used in all traditional institutes in the Arab world as well as its author and compiler’s native Ind-o-Pak origins.

Our Education System

ilmHub Qur’an Schools use the Qur’an Learning Portal from QSI (www.qsi1.com). The system was developed by Sh. Mahmood Khan Saheb over decades.

This system allows us to monitor, assign, review as well as mark evert students individual progress down to every word or an ayah of the Qur’an.

The system also helps provide homework assignment on a regular basis. Our student always have some work assigned to them. So the tools for excelling are made available, and the progress is only limited by the student’s own zeal and desire!

On-Line Service

Our On-Line Service follows the same guideline as our on-site education service, with slight tweaks.

Every Student follows a self-paced structure, whereby he/she does not feel loosing out from class-fellows. At the same time, other students do not hold him/her back should they have room for growth.

The structure for On-Line classes is designed for self-practice under the supervision and diligent monitoring of the parents. This point must be highlighted that we expect an active participation from the parents for our on-line Qur’an education to work.

We expect parents to actively sit with their children while they do their homework and practice through our QSI system. These practices are approximately 20 minutes.

After practice, the student is allotted 10 minutes of Skype time with the teacher to recite the practiced lesson. Please be mindful that 10 minutes allotment does not mean that the teacher will use all 10 minutes. As the student progresses and gets better, they may complete their lesson in 4-5 minutes. The teacher will assign the new lesson and let the student go.

Punctuality is of utmost importance. The student will call the Teacher at his designated time, and read his practiced lesson. At least one parent should sit and make sure that the student is focused and behaves while reading the lesson for the Teacher.

The teacher will highlight the problem, and indicate how to fix them in their subsequent practice.

Age Requirements

Minimum Age requirement is 6+

All students of age 6 will be assessed for their maturity and focus during the first two weeks. Students at younger age might be required to have the parent present during class by mandate.

Our Policies

We believe in fair and upright servitude towards our goal in pleasing Allah Ta’ala. For this reason ilmHub Qur’an Schools have a detailed policies charted out.

We expect the parents to be informed about these policies at the time of registration.

Registration and School Fees Policy

Objective: To establish a baseline understanding between ilmHub and students' parents regarding all registrations and school fees.

Policy:

1) If a family registers, and does not show up, their account will be set to irregular flag after 2 days of non-communication.

• If such family wishes to register again, they must pay an additional $20 Reinstatement or re-Registration fee. This is to cover for clerical administrative costs that goes towards service being provided.

2) Should any family remain absent for two weeks [14 days] without actually applying for vacation, the system will automatically set them to irregular flag, mandating the $20 Reinstatement or re-Registration fee.

• However, if due request for vacation is sought via WhatsApp from Admin/Teacher or through email (info@ilmhub.com), no fee will be levied for clerical services. In this case, we will also retain their time slots for them.

3) Families who inform and apply for vacation of a month or more should keep in mind that their On-Line or On-Site Slots shall be considered forgone. Once they return, we will re-assess if there is free space in that particular time-slot. If not, then they will have to choose a different time-slot. In such case, since they applied for vacation, we shall have no additional fee as well.

4) Please note that fee payment is for securing Teacher's time as well as covering overhead expenses for keeping the facility running, and not for teaching lessons themselves. We cannot stipulate a value to actual Qur'an teaching. It is beyond valuable. Hence, the full fee is due even through the months wherein students did not show up, or classes had to be cancelled due to federal or provincial restrictions. Any exceptions to this rule will be clearly communicated to the parents if and when they occur.

5) All school fees are due within the first week of each month.

6) Only payment through the registered QSI parent account is acceptable as this allows ilmHub to spend less time tracking down payments and matching them with parents manually.

7) Any disputes relating to fees may be submitted in writing to info@ilmhub.com within 1 week of the dispute occuring.
