Maulana Muhammad Patel (Muhammad Bin Zahid) was born and raised in Cambridge, ON. After obtaining his Ontario Secondary School Diploma from Galt Collegiate Institute in Cambridge, he travelled to Durban, South Africa and acquired his degree in Islamic Theology as well as certificate of recitation in the 7 modes of Qir'ah. He then pursued a post-graduate course at his alma mater, Madrasah Taaleemuddeen, Isipingo Beach, improving public speaking, authoring and translating articles, doing basic specialization in jurisprudence and gaining experience teaching children on how to be practical, ideal Muslims in the 21st century. He has lead Tara'wih since 2007 in Canada, the U.S., and South Africa. Maulana Muhammad Patel is a member of the Jamaiyyatul Ulama Canada, Canadian Council of Muslim Theologians (CCMT).
