Islamic Schools, Company of ‘Ulamā’, Madrasah Days
« on: April 13, 2016, 01:56:15 PM »
[11/5/2015, 3:21 PM] [Brother 1]: Is aversion to Muslim outward symbols of practice have anything to do with our lack political and social outreach? Disunity in our ranks and Ulama infighting?
[11/5/2015, 3:22 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: We as a whole are not loyal to our religion.
If that statement packs a bite.. then its true ;)
[11/5/2015, 3:23 PM] [Brother 1]: Man Sikhs sport Turban in public and if a bro wears a topi then other Muslims give him a stare!
[11/5/2015, 3:24 PM] [Brother 2]: True lol
[11/5/2015, 3:24 PM] [Brother 3]: Haha yea
[11/5/2015, 3:24 PM] [Brother 2]: It's like that here too
[11/5/2015, 3:24 PM] [Brother 1]: It's sad to see such a reaction from fellow Muslims.
[11/5/2015, 3:24 PM] [Brother 3]: Very true mufti sahib...even a slight embarrassment is enough to stop muslims from doing wudu in the bathroom or wearing a topi
[11/5/2015, 3:24 PM] [Brother 2]: I guess that's where your level of iman comes in
[11/5/2015, 3:25 PM] [Brother 2]: Like the hardcore tableeghi bros they'll read Salah anywhere.. Can I say that for others?  Unfortunately not
[11/5/2015, 3:25 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Here in Edmonton.. every 4th person is a turbanator.. If our muslims cannot wear Imamah here.. man.. we do not have that much love for this sunnah..
The fact is majority do not even consider it a sunnah.. so..
[11/5/2015, 3:26 PM] [Brother 2]: Turbanator (lol!)
[11/5/2015, 3:26 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: @[Brother 2] : My father in law has been running a Quran School that caters for home schooling to avoid sending kids to public schools for 7 years now!
[11/5/2015, 3:27 PM] [Brother 1]: I think in some sense we are also bit guilty of wearing cultural clothes - Shelwar or Panjabi etc. We could wear overcoats and better topis, like Shukr ones... Love those hats
[11/5/2015, 3:27 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Do you know.. who doesnt send their kids to this school?
Ulama, Muftiyan, Tableeghis, Jamaat Islaamis, EVERYONE!!!!
In initial times people used it as a babysitting service. The most response we get are from Somalis who are fed up of swearing and fahashi in public schools
[11/5/2015, 3:29 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Of ALL these people my father in law find it utterly amazing that our muftiyan and tableeghis have NO qadr for such a school mechanism. They are so over awed by western secularism that they feel the child will loose out on the world by being in Masjid
[11/5/2015, 3:29 PM] [Brother 1]: Well now you can homeschooling better with khanacademy
[11/5/2015, 3:30 PM] [Brother 2]: Masha'Ala
Ajeeb news mufti saheb i thought people they're would have some basic understanding.. State schools in the west are no schools for our daughters and sisters
[11/5/2015, 3:30 PM] [Brother 1]: It's really awesome, a child can learn at his/her own pace until second year of uni
[11/5/2015, 3:30 PM] [Brother 2]: [Brother 1] yes but his confidence levels will suck because he's never interacted with others his own age.. There's pros and cons at the same time
[11/5/2015, 3:31 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: I have seen a living success story of this school system. A child barely 6 year old.. recited entire Surah Yaseen in Husary style..
Somone asked him in masjid.. why are you reciting it.. His reply "Because I like it".
[11/5/2015, 3:31 PM] [Brother 2]: Masha'Ala
[11/5/2015, 3:31 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: YET out of 20,000 muslim community... there are literally 3-4 children utilizing this system
[11/5/2015, 3:32 PM] [Brother 1]: Well, for interaction with other children, couldn't you put home schooled children in youth sports clubs, etc.
[11/5/2015, 3:32 PM] [Brother 3]: yeah obviously home schooling doesnt mean keeping the child in the house all the time
[11/5/2015, 3:32 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: that is the state of our influenced minds. Tableeghis are at its forefront .. sorry about that. They were supposed to take a lead.. but non of them did.. So people assume that its not worth it
[11/5/2015, 3:33 PM] [Brother 2]: In the UK, such schools have been hit quite hard especially with recent scandals,  so Canadians should take benefit from it till they can..
[11/5/2015, 3:33 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: They have interaction with all the students in the masjid.. they are not isolated.
[11/5/2015, 3:33 PM] [Brother 2]: Sad
[11/5/2015, 3:34 PM] [Brother 2]: I'm more of fan of the Islamic  schooling then home schooling personally speaking...
[11/5/2015, 3:34 PM] [Brother 2]: The model mufti saheb mentions is awesome
[11/5/2015, 3:35 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: What their parent feel threatened is from child not being able to sit in labs.. or gym.. or not talking to girls and being shy blah blah ;)
I was so shocked yesterday.. a student completed one year curriculum in 5 month.. passed the assessment in flying colours.. spent the rest of the year to memorize 3 juz.. and as the 2nd year starts.. the parent put him into Junior High..public school!!! Saari Mehnet per paani
[11/5/2015, 3:35 PM] [Brother 3]: Yes true assuming you have access  to good islamic school
[11/5/2015, 3:35 PM] [Brother 2]: Sad times mufti saheb,  shocking indeed
[11/5/2015, 3:36 PM] [Maulana 1]: Well even that is slowly getting targeted in the UK
[11/5/2015, 3:37 PM] [Brother 2]: I guess as parents you need to value the Islamic system and have seen the bad side of the state schools.. However we live in a time were parents rather make children in to a doctor etc then a hafiz/alim
[11/5/2015, 3:37 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Canada in this case is amazing place.. Provincial Govt.. encourage homeschooling system..
In Alberta Govt gives grants to parents if they are home schooling
[11/5/2015, 3:37 PM] [Brother 2]: Nice
[11/5/2015, 3:38 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: But our muslim people are mostly new migrants from third world places.. want to become gora gora.. waleti ..
[11/5/2015, 3:38 PM] [Brother 2]: Personally speaking I would never want to send my daughter to a state school.. I know exactly what happens and I don't want my daughter brainwashed and learning that garbage
[11/5/2015, 3:38 PM] [Brother 2]: But here Islamic schools not all girls get places.. So it's hard
[11/5/2015, 3:39 PM] [Brother 2]: Here if your a Virgin by aged 15 your seen as there is something wrong with you
[11/5/2015, 3:40 PM] [Brother 2]: We live in a sexually charged society in the west today
[11/5/2015, 3:40 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Just because the Sh. sitting in masjid teaching has a long white beard and an imamah on.. he is a simpleton maulvi.. not realizing that he is an accomplished engineer, entrepreneur, da'ee, imam, reciter with multiple ijazaat and software programmer all in one!
[11/5/2015, 3:40 PM] [Brother 3]: Islamic school's in UK are no better
[11/5/2015, 3:40 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: But in core, we are bunch of prejudgemental fools.. ;)
[11/5/2015, 3:41 PM] [Brother 2]: [Brother 3] depends on location...
[11/5/2015, 3:41 PM] [Brother 2]: Mufti saheb lol true
[11/5/2015, 3:41 PM] [Brother 3]: State funded Islamic school's are losing Islamic ethics
[11/5/2015, 3:41 PM] [Brother 3]: It's all about the grades
[11/5/2015, 3:41 PM] [Brother 2]: Mufti saheb nailing it today :p
[11/5/2015, 3:41 PM] [Brother 3]: ££££££££££
[11/5/2015, 3:41 PM] [Brother 2]: What isn't about money today bro?
[11/5/2015, 3:42 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: I tell you [Brother 2] :) My father in law's school isnt about money!! he has been going in loss for last 4-5 years.. He puts money from his own pocket
[11/5/2015, 3:42 PM] [Brother 1]: Some scholars are encouraging home schooling
[11/5/2015, 3:43 PM] [Brother 1]: Especially Shaykh Hamza Yusuf
[11/5/2015, 3:43 PM] [Brother 2]: Mufti saheb sorry that was directed towards [Brother 3].. No doubt there are genuine institutions out there and people
[11/5/2015, 3:44 PM] [Brother 2]: So the govt funds it mufti saheb?
[11/5/2015, 3:44 PM] [Brother 2]: Your father in laws place
[11/5/2015, 3:44 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Yet he says.. the intention was never money.. it was to provide alternative for public schooling..
Even if influx of student increase, he says that he will hire teachers whom he will have to pay.. so the school model will ALWAYS just breakeven.. no profit.
But all people saw was.. aah you charging $200 per month for every child.. making money off quran teaching ... baaaad man
[11/5/2015, 3:45 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: No.. he doesnt take govt funding because in Alberta we didnt get a high enough student response.
[11/5/2015, 3:45 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: but the govt funding goes individually to parents
[11/5/2015, 3:45 PM] [Brother 2]: Sad our own people would spend thousands on secular education but for deeni education they cause a fuss over a few hundred
[11/5/2015, 3:45 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: basically govt.. take care of stationaries, and stuff.. like child benefit.. they give out the child education benefit etc.
[11/5/2015, 3:46 PM] [Brother 2]: I see interesting
[11/5/2015, 3:46 PM] [Brother 2]: Here in UK there's too many teachers..
[11/5/2015, 3:46 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: secular education?! No they would spend more on their kids swimming lessons!
[11/5/2015, 3:46 PM] [Brother 2]: Lol
[11/5/2015, 3:47 PM] [Brother 2]: We have similar issues here too
[11/5/2015, 3:47 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: We used to get students for evening school.. saying.. I can only come 2 days out of 4 days.. becuase Tue and Thur I have karate class
[11/5/2015, 3:48 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: These are the extra curriculur activies being preferred over quran
[11/5/2015, 3:48 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: and the remaining 2 days that kid would come and do his judo chops on other quran students
[11/5/2015, 3:48 PM] [Brother 2]: Lol
[11/5/2015, 3:48 PM] [Brother 2]: Time to learn judo then :p
[11/5/2015, 3:49 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: You stare at them and they complain to mommy..
[11/5/2015, 3:49 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: :)
[11/5/2015, 3:49 PM] [Brother 2]: Lol
[11/5/2015, 3:50 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: all in all.. we are really not loyal to our religion.. I say this so many time.. religion is our garb which we use to lull our nafs with that we are good people.. Otherwise.. only hand few are such who genuinely feel for following religion.. wanting to learn what is most loved in sight of Allah so they can do it for their own relation to Allah.
[11/5/2015, 3:51 PM] [Brother 2]: Very true mufti saheb
[11/5/2015, 3:51 PM] [Brother 2]: Sad but true
[11/5/2015, 3:51 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: The fear of doing haram.. someone who genuinely feels the sting in heart.. so few of us. I do not count myself among them as well.
[11/5/2015, 3:53 PM] [Brother 2]: Me neither mufti saheb
[11/5/2015, 3:53 PM] [Brother 2]: Ajeeb times we live in and it's only going to get worser
[11/5/2015, 3:54 PM] [Brother 2]: I just like to tag along with the righteous :p
[11/5/2015, 3:55 PM] [Brother 2]: Might be a part of them hopefully, InshaAllah.
[11/5/2015, 3:57 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Ham ko post doc banna hai (not directed at my dear bro here) lekin rabb ke saath kesa rishta hai.. us ki fikr nahee. Quran sikhlao to poochtay hain khatam kab hoga take khatam party ho sake. Gunah se ruknay ki tanbeeh karo to... Allah bohot ghafoor ur raheem hai..
Bas filmain wekhee ja, Gaaliyan bakki ja
Musalman da musalman, Sher ay jawan

[Translation: We want to become a postdoc fellow (not directed at my dear bro here), but how is our relationship with the Rabb? We’re not concerned about that. When the sunnahs of Nabi (صلى الله عليه وسلم) are mentioned, then with strange interpretations and excuses we grab onto some “narrow street”. Try to explain something of fiqh, then: “It’s much beyond our understanding, tell us something according to our level, Mufti Sahib.” Teach Qurʾān, then they ask when the khatam (completion) is so the khatam party can take place. Advise about stopping sins, then: “Allāh is very Ghafūr-ur-Raḥīm (Forgiving and Merciful).” [What they want to hear is:] Just keep watching movies, keep spewing vulgarities. Keep considering yourself the proper Muslim, courageous like a lion.]
[11/5/2015, 3:57 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: rant complete ! the end
[11/5/2015, 3:57 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: ;)
[11/5/2015, 3:59 PM] [Brother 2]: Khatam party (lol!)
[11/5/2015, 3:59 PM] [Brother 2]: Mufti saheb i didnt know you could speak punjabi?
[11/5/2015, 3:59 PM] [Brother 2]: Last part killed it.. Lol
[11/5/2015, 4:07 PM] [Brother 2]: Mufti saheb are you bayah to anyone?
[11/5/2015, 4:08 PM] [Brother 2]: I don't think you've ever mentioned
[11/5/2015, 4:09 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Yes, I take guidance from Mufti Ebrahim Desai Saheb.
[11/5/2015, 4:11 PM] [Brother 2]: Masha'Ala
[11/5/2015, 4:15 PM] [Brother 1]: What is Mufti Ebrahim's tariqah?
[11/5/2015, 4:16 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Silsila Chishtiya Imdadiya Rasheediyah
[11/5/2015, 4:16 PM] [Brother 2]: Khaleefa of?
[11/5/2015, 4:16 PM] [Brother 1]: Wait is he Shaykh Zakariyya's khalifa?

[11/5/2015, 4:17 PM] [Brother 2]: Which ones bro?
[11/5/2015, 4:17 PM] [Brother 1]: Differences of the Imams and Shariah wa Tariqah
[11/5/2015, 4:17 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira:

[11/5/2015, 4:18 PM] [Brother 2]: So Khalifa of mufti Mahmoodul Hasan gangohi rahmatullah
[11/5/2015, 4:18 PM] [Brother 2]: Masha'Ala
[11/5/2015, 4:19 PM] [Brother 2]: [Brother 1] good book
[11/5/2015, 4:19 PM] [Brother 1]: Well I have read/heard parts of Fadhail Amal, when some brothers gather after salah go read a hadith or two

[11/5/2015, 4:20 PM] [Brother 1]: Isn't Mufti Ibrahim Qureshi of Darussalam bayah to Shaykh Khanpuri?
[11/5/2015, 4:20 PM] [Brother 2]: Senior Khalifa of Maulana maseehullah ra
[11/5/2015, 4:20 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Yes he is..
[11/5/2015, 4:20 PM] [Brother 2]: Fazail e sadkaat is even more ajeeb.. But a bit more advanced
[11/5/2015, 4:20 PM] [Brother 1]: Well I was reading bits of Path to Perfection by Shaykh Masihullah
[11/5/2015, 4:20 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Mufti Ahmed Khanpuri db. is very revered in toronto area .. and why not.. he personality is simply awesome
[11/5/2015, 4:21 PM] [Brother 2]: Does Maulana Abdullah Kapodvi still live in Canada?  Another powerhouse.
[11/5/2015, 4:21 PM] [Brother 1]: I think so...
[11/5/2015, 4:21 PM] [Brother 2]: He has some awesome books..
[11/5/2015, 4:21 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: many mashayekh would come to madrasah.. but few captured my delight as Mufti Ahmed Khanpuri db.
[11/5/2015, 4:22 PM] [Brother 1]: Shaykh Bilal Ali was once mentioning Shaykh Kapadrawi

[11/5/2015, 4:22 PM] [Brother 2]: Mufti saheb do tell us more about Mufti kanpuri saheb
[11/5/2015, 4:23 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: As a student we didnt get to spend too much time with Hazrat.. But since I am special I would sneak in many times with the Ulama colleagues at that time.
[11/5/2015, 4:24 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: I normally sense radiation from many mashayekh.. which sort to helps me feel my personal acceptance of them. Somehow, perhaps because I was so in tune with Mufti Ebrahim Desai.. I felt a very powerful pull from Mufti Ahmad Khanpuri.
[11/5/2015, 4:24 PM] [Brother 2]: Masha'Ala
[11/5/2015, 4:24 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Another personality that simply delighted me to max was Ml. Suleman Choksi Saheb.. superb

[11/5/2015, 4:28 PM] [Brother 1]: @[Brother 2] - Jazakhumullahu Khairun

[11/5/2015, 4:28 PM] [Brother 4]: Mashallah I saw Mufti Ahmed Khanpuri (D.B) here in Saskatoon awhile back. First time I truly felt in the presence of a great aalim.
[11/5/2015, 4:28 PM] [Brother 1]: Mufti Ibn Yusuf is his khalifa as well

[11/5/2015, 4:30 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Mufti Ahmed Khanpuri came to Saskatoon
[11/5/2015, 4:32 PM] [Brother 1]: Some people were saying some bad stuff about Shaykh Hakim Akhtar... I didn't pay much heed
[11/5/2015, 4:32 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: [Brother 1].. you guys should make effort to secure some particular ulama for ramadhan.. like Ml. Muhammad Abasoomer Saheb.. Just request him to come lead taraweeh and give talks or conduct some hadeeth lessons..
Before he becomes "akabir" and hard to reach :)
[11/5/2015, 4:32 PM] [Brother 1]: Well when Shaykh Ismail Moosa came here I spent some time with him
[11/5/2015, 4:33 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: The ranks Shah Hakeem Akhtar rahimahullah attained for himself is already established. People talking ill of him only raises his darajaat
[11/5/2015, 4:33 PM] [Brother 1]: He is off the radar these days
[11/5/2015, 4:33 PM] [Brother 2]: People talking rubbish of Shah hakim akhtar ra?
[11/5/2015, 4:33 PM] [Brother 2]: Astagfirullah
[11/5/2015, 4:34 PM] [Brother 2]: He had the most following of ulema worldwide (mufti saheb  can correct me if I'm wrong)
[11/5/2015, 4:34 PM] [Brother 1]: Man some people said bad stuff about Shaykh Zulfiqar...
[11/5/2015, 4:34 PM] [Brother 2]: A person who has a lot of ulema behind him is not some small thing my brothers...
[11/5/2015, 4:34 PM] [Brother 2]: Haters bro
[11/5/2015, 4:34 PM] [Brother 1]: And I got upset
[11/5/2015, 4:35 PM] [Brother 1]: I have a spot for Shaykh Zulfiqar
[11/5/2015, 4:35 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Among the asaatidha at Alim level I had.. I had reverence for 4 over all others.
Ml. Muhammad is one of them.. wont call him an vast ocean .. cuz there are many bigger oceans than him.. but he is nothing less than an ocean of knowledge at his very tender age
[11/5/2015, 4:36 PM] [Brother 1]: Who are the 4?
[11/5/2015, 4:37 PM] [Brother 2]: Shaykh Hussain Abdul Sattar is quite good too,  has an ability to explain very hard concepts like a piece of cake
[11/5/2015, 4:37 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Mufti Ebrahim Saheb (no question there :) )
Mufti Emran Vawda (Have not seen another like him)
Mufti Yunus Bobat
Ml. Muhammad Abasoomer

[11/5/2015, 4:38 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: These are my direct asatiza. otherwise there are personalities around South Africa of other charms too
[11/5/2015, 4:40 PM] [Brother 1]: Shaykh if you come to Toronto we should chill :)
[11/5/2015, 4:40 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Mufti Emraan Vawda is ajeeb shakhsiyat.. He is young .. probably 5-6 years older than myself. He was our main ustaadh .. but so much tawadu' yet so much uloom. Allahu Akbar. He helped me move places once and had no jhijak or hesitation picking my lotas etc.
[11/5/2015, 4:41 PM] [Brother 2]: Ajeeb :)
[11/5/2015, 4:41 PM] [Brother 2]: Sent ()
[11/5/2015, 4:41 PM] [Brother 2]: Mufti saheb rare are those who hate chamchas
[11/5/2015, 4:42 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Currently .. he is a Practicing Lawyer who has full command on Usool al Fiqh and Aqeedah, and most of all he is as tach savy as myself !
[11/5/2015, 4:44 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: I once wrote an exam for Mufti Vawda.. went very good.. but when I got the paper back.. I barely passed.
I asked him what happened Mufti Saheb. He said.. all your answer were acc. to book. Nothing wrong there.. but I want the student to explain faqahat behind the ibaraat and not just present the ibarah. Any parrot can do that with ibarah in front of him.
[11/5/2015, 4:45 PM] [Brother 1]: Faqahat? Ibarat?
[11/5/2015, 4:46 PM] [Brother 2]: Subhanallah
[11/5/2015, 4:46 PM] [Brother 2]: Where's the trainee mufti :P :P
[11/5/2015, 4:46 PM] [Brother 2]: Hope your listening ml :P :D
[11/5/2015, 4:46 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: faqahat = the essence of undertanding behind the ibarah
ibarah = text of the matn
matn = classical text
[11/5/2015, 4:47 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: So next time, we had an oral exam.. and as I sat there.. I started reading ibarah.. and started waving my both hands pointing to every pronoun and ever concept in the ibarah. I was giving him all the possible explanation and why my explanation is most sound and correct.. I toold about 20 min to explain 4 lines :P
[11/5/2015, 4:47 PM] [Brother 2]: I'm saving these terms :p
[11/5/2015, 4:47 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: He had a smirk on his face most of the time.
[11/5/2015, 4:47 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: I got 89 in that exam! :D and He never gives that much
[11/5/2015, 4:48 PM] [Brother 2]: Awesome ()
[11/5/2015, 4:48 PM] [Brother 2]: You should write a book on your student days :p
[11/5/2015, 4:49 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: yes.. thats what everyone tells me..
[11/5/2015, 4:49 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: I have so many small incidents
[11/5/2015, 4:50 PM] [Brother 2]: Every single alim I've met.. They all say one thing in common... Madrassah days were the best
Mufti saheb you should or jot it down somewhere little by little
[11/5/2015, 4:51 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Once I was in Siraaji (inheritance) and while the teacher was teaching he mentioned This is Imam Saheb's opinion but Imam Muhammad disagreed. and this is why he disagreed.
I said to the teacher.. Sheikh, why Imam Saheb held this opinion when rationality doesnt demand it.. He overlooked me and continued. After next mas'ala I asked the same question. because if something didnt make sense to me.. it bugged me.
He said.. "Imam Saheb is still in his grave, go ask him"... :D
[11/5/2015, 4:52 PM] [Brother 4]: lol
[11/5/2015, 4:53 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: I was so torn.. He was Mufti Ebrahim Desai's close friend.. so I went to Mufti Saheb and told him.. and then I said, "If I could go learn from Imam Sahab myself, why would I come so far here". and Mufti Saheb laughed his head off.. and said, "Dont worry, you will find out the reasons in your own mutale'a
[11/5/2015, 4:54 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: When I start remembering madrasah days.. everything just start playing in front of me. the good the bad and the ugly
[11/5/2015, 4:57 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Ok here is a good one from madrasah days
[11/5/2015, 4:57 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Mufti Ebrahim Saheb and me have a very different and close relationship
[11/5/2015, 4:59 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira:

I used to drive a mini clubman 1981 like this one..
[11/5/2015, 5:00 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: I was parked behind Mufti Saheb.. and looking at the car.. no wonder he wouldnt notice it..
We stood for about 10 min and he gave me instruction for the work to be done next day. and after all is done.. he gets into his car.
Something in my heart tells me he will not see my car and drive back.. So I rush to get into my car.. and start it.. I was just about to put in reverse and move, BANG!!!
[11/5/2015, 5:02 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Mufti Saheb comes out of the car.. my front bumper is bent in.. and his camry is like an elephant.. nthing happened.. He looked at my car, and then his..
He starts laughing loudly.. and looks at me and say.. ,"Kyoon Maulvi Faisal.. lag gayee" and continued laughing. then said, "send me the bill" got into his car and drove away
[11/5/2015, 5:02 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: :D
[11/5/2015, 5:03 PM] [Brother 2]: (lol!)(lol!) lol
[11/5/2015, 5:03 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: I am sitting there like.. huh.. what happened.. haha
[11/5/2015, 5:05 PM] [Brother 2]: Lol
[11/5/2015, 5:07 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Some of the best things happen once you get close to mashayekh
[11/5/2015, 5:07 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: I had one ustadh who was so strict.. and he would say video games haram .. this haram etc.
[11/5/2015, 5:08 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: So I said to him.. Mufti Saheb.. then why does your kid play need 4 speed and others?
[11/5/2015, 5:08 PM] [Brother 2]: Lol
[11/5/2015, 5:08 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: He looked at me staringly and said. So if that fool will start flirting with girls, you will make it permissible?!
[11/5/2015, 5:08 PM] [Brother 2]: Lol
[11/5/2015, 5:08 PM] [Brother 1]: What's the medium of instruction in SA madrassah? English, Arabic, or Urdu?
[11/5/2015, 5:09 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: English
[11/5/2015, 5:09 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: with arabic texts
[11/5/2015, 5:09 PM] [Brother 2]: No urdu?
[11/5/2015, 5:09 PM] [Brother 5]: You drove that in South Africa?
[11/5/2015, 5:09 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: yep [Brother 5].. its an awsome car
[11/5/2015, 5:09 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: if you categorize it as car
[11/5/2015, 5:09 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: :)
[11/5/2015, 5:09 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Well urdu in some madaris
[11/5/2015, 5:10 PM] [Brother 5]: Its fantastic, MashaAllah
Love it
[11/5/2015, 5:10 PM] [Brother 1]: Shaykh I was wondering can't we open a Darul Uloom in Canada that teaches in English and is open to two other madhabs - Shafi'i and Maliki
[11/5/2015, 5:10 PM] [Brother 1]: That way we can be inclusive
[11/5/2015, 5:10 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: No..
[11/5/2015, 5:10 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: haha
[11/5/2015, 5:11 PM] [Brother 1]: I heard of Chatham and Buffalo and read their curriculum and was turned off
[11/5/2015, 5:12 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: its not simple to open darul uloom.
2nd Its almost impossible finding people who are well versed in curriculum WHO may want to change the program
3rd No Shafi Mashayekh, or Maliki for that matter who are willing to suffice themselves with menial sub minimum wage
[11/5/2015, 5:13 PM] [Brother 1]: Well we can get some alim from Shaykh Taha's madrassah
[11/5/2015, 5:13 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Currently there is only Chatham and Cornwall.. Both are okay.. satisfactory levels .. meaning good enough for those who wish to keep kids in a desiyish madrasah environment.
[11/5/2015, 5:13 PM] [Brother 1]: And import some Mauritanian scholars
[11/5/2015, 5:13 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Who will pay them?
[11/5/2015, 5:14 PM] [Brother 1]: I have to think about this... Can we brain storm a business plan
[11/5/2015, 5:14 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: I was once requested to teach 7 hours of kitabs plus do imamat plus maktab evening for $1500 pm
[11/5/2015, 5:14 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: and then people say ulama' dont get involved
[11/5/2015, 5:14 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: :)
[11/5/2015, 5:15 PM] [Brother 5]: @[Brother 1],
I submitted a full Business plan to an alim in UK...Never heard about it again
[11/5/2015, 5:15 PM] [Brother 1]: Well bro, come to Canada :)
[11/5/2015, 5:16 PM] [Brother 5]: Ulama are reluctant to change and every change is seen with suspicion, doesn't matter in Karachi or Toronto
[11/5/2015, 5:16 PM] [Brother 1]: I think if I want to pursue Alim studies after my PhD I would like to go to Chicago and study at Darul Qasim
[11/5/2015, 5:16 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: yep.. that correct
[11/5/2015, 5:16 PM] [Brother 1]: Under Shaykh Amin et Al.
[11/5/2015, 5:17 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: After your PhD why do you want to pursue alim course? Can you not become a financial pillar for 2-3 strong ulama with your specialized rank?
[11/5/2015, 5:18 PM] [Brother 5]: Exactly!
[11/5/2015, 5:18 PM] [Brother 1]: That's also possible
[11/5/2015, 5:18 PM] [Brother 1]: But my research field is in nanoelectronics
[11/5/2015, 5:18 PM] [Brother 1]: And I may need to move around
[11/5/2015, 5:18 PM] [Brother 1]: Between US and Canada
[11/5/2015, 5:18 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: I know of a person who studies only 4-5 pages from a book under Mufti Ebrahim Desai per week. But spends the rest of the time to financially and legally supporting islamic events.
[11/5/2015, 5:19 PM] [Brother 5]: An expert in Nanoelectronics is equally needed for the Ummah...so why not excel in your own field?
[11/5/2015, 5:20 PM] [Brother 1]: I thought about that too
[11/5/2015, 5:20 PM] [Brother 1]: Just keeping options open
[11/5/2015, 5:20 PM] [Brother 1]: I know Mufti Ibrahim Qureshi teaches after hours
[11/5/2015, 5:21 PM] [Brother 1]: At Darussalam
[11/5/2015, 5:21 PM] [Brother 3]: Nice discussion guys
[11/5/2015, 5:22 PM] [Brother 3]: Though I'm going to bed now so dreading at the number of messages when I wake up loo
[11/5/2015, 5:22 PM] [Brother 3]: Lol
[11/5/2015, 5:22 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: I strongly believe that our ummah in the west do not need ULAMA to fill Imamats and teaching Maktabs.. So the 6-8 years spent is for naught.. The entire mindset has brought the level of ulama down to menial tasks and duties. What these masajid need is someone who recites good Quran and knows Salah Masa'il.. The salary they pay is enough only for that.
If you need specialists giving discourses, conducting counsiling sessions or higher intergation then contract the scholars of that field at appropriate rates and let them do that job as independants.
[11/5/2015, 5:22 PM] [Brother 5]: When my dad...all kinds of people started turning home for months...
They said they have not receivex their monthly stipend for the month.
Shaykhul-Hadeeth Maulana Darkhawsti tunred up at home giving a report on Darul-uloom renovation and carpet...Nobody knew anything about any of this...
[11/5/2015, 5:22 PM] [Brother 5]: When my dad died...
[11/5/2015, 5:23 PM] [Brother 1]: Btw, almost all engineering and Applied Physics research is funded in part by military
[11/5/2015, 5:23 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Mashallah.. yes.. that is what the real hidden strength of Ummah is
[11/5/2015, 5:23 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: So [Brother 1] you planning to do another AQ Khan ;)
[11/5/2015, 5:24 PM] [Brother 1]: What's AQ?
[11/5/2015, 5:24 PM] [Brother 5]: His son told me about my own dad in UK 3 years ago. My dad died in 1991...
Gave me his card to come to Darul-uloom...My dad was Barelwee, I thought he hated Deobandees....Never knew ghat he was financing a Deobandi Darul-uloom...Didn't even pray in that Masjid
[11/5/2015, 5:25 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Abdul Qadeer Khan...
[11/5/2015, 5:25 PM] [Brother 1]: Masha'Allah
[11/5/2015, 5:26 PM] [Brother 1]: Lol no...
[11/5/2015, 5:27 PM] [Mufti 2]: Mufti Faisal Sb, your points about Mufti Khanpuri dbh!! So true. He's currently in Saudi for Umrah. We met in Madina,!sat and had a chat for abit then he said I must leave as I'm going Makkah tomorrow, so I went home and packed my bags and decided to set off for Makkah the next day
[11/5/2015, 5:27 PM] [Mufti 2]: Some personalities. Allahu Akbar. Being around them just makes you feel different.
[11/5/2015, 5:28 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: yes.. that is the feeling. You feel like staying in their company just a little longer and longer ..
[11/5/2015, 5:30 PM] [Mufti 2]: Last meeting with Ml Hakeem Akhtar Sb  ؒ , in 2007. I just didn't want to leave. Just amazing being around him.
[11/5/2015, 5:33 PM] [Brother 2]: Masha'Ala
[11/5/2015, 5:33 PM] [Mufti 2]: However, [Brother 5] will agree, being in the company of Allama Sb, is unbeatable. His random pearls of wisdom, if understood properly are utterly priceless
[11/5/2015, 5:33 PM] [Brother 2]: Can anyone confirm if ml. Shah hakim akhtar would be accompanied by bodyguards/gunmen when travelling p
[11/5/2015, 5:33 PM] [Brother 2]: ??
[11/5/2015, 5:33 PM] [Brother 2]: Ra
[11/5/2015, 5:35 PM] [Mufti 2]: I've never been with him travelling around PK. But when we went his place in Karachi there weren't gunmen there
[11/5/2015, 5:36 PM] [Brother 2]: I see.. I know someone who ran away from home in Karachi from UK
[11/5/2015, 5:36 PM] [Brother 2]: There was no chance of him coming back... His family requested shaykh hakim akhtar to get involved and do something,
[11/5/2015, 5:37 PM] [Brother 2]: The guy was found before night fall and the guy giving him refuge in some messed up area was arrested lol
[11/5/2015, 5:37 PM] [Brother 2]: I was told he would help out in a lot of places where he could..
[11/5/2015, 5:38 PM] [Brother 2]: Walahualam if it was Shah hakim akhtar..
[11/5/2015, 5:38 PM] [Brother 2]: I think the Madrasah in gulistan e jauhar.. Ashrafiya Is his?
[11/5/2015, 5:39 PM] [Brother 5]: @[Brother 2],
Ulama in Pakistan are being gunned down in Broad day light and it is permissable for Masjids to have scanners and Ulama to have protection...
Hakeem Akhtar Saheb was stroke stricken so didn't travel much anyways but there wasn't any Guards at his place.
[11/5/2015, 5:39 PM] [Brother 5]: Hakeem Akhtar's place is in Gulshan Iqbal and not Gulistan-e-Jauhar
[11/5/2015, 5:39 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: It was the same about Ml. Yunus Patel rahimahullah.. only after he passed away that people started popping up saying that he used to help them monthly and would care for them etc.. So much that it became overwhelming that how he used to help so many people
[11/5/2015, 5:40 PM] [Brother 2]: @[Brother 5]
I never questioned the permissibility of it brother... I got nothing but respect for him.
Apologies if I came across that way
[11/5/2015, 5:40 PM] [Brother 5]: No ...Many Ulama have body guards and Masajid in Karachi have scanners
[11/5/2015, 5:40 PM] [Brother 2]: I benefitted a lot from the works of Maulana yunus patel rahimullah
[11/5/2015, 5:41 PM] [Brother 2]: Fair enough bro
[11/5/2015, 5:42 PM] [Brother 5]: Mufti Taqi Usmani has a Friday Bayan and you can hear Automatic Ak-47 fire right outside...
He calmly interrupts and says to people to Fear Allah and let Security take care of it
[11/5/2015, 5:42 PM] [Mufti 2]: Credit where it's due, Sheikh Bin Baz  ؒ was very well known for that too. He'd have a set budget from his monthly income to give to those in need. Every month he'd go over his budget and would eat into his personal allowance so much so that there wouldn't be anything left for his own needs
[11/5/2015, 5:43 PM] [Brother 5]: Yes, MashaAllah
[11/5/2015, 5:43 PM] [Brother 2]: Masha'Ala
[11/5/2015, 5:43 PM] [Mufti 2]: I love the sight of Pakistani Ulama with a Gunman stood behind them.
It's sad that it's come to that however.
[11/5/2015, 5:43 PM] [Mufti 2]: Mufti Zar Wali Khan has a hefty security entourage I hear
[11/5/2015, 5:45 PM] [Brother 2]: It's mentioned in fazail e sadkat I believe that many Sahaba/Salaf would have a fixed portion of their money that they would devote to the needed etc...
I know of a guy in Norway today,  from fakeer Allah made him a Raja today and owns businesses and his ten bedroom house in Oslo.. He says himself I don't know where all this comes from.. ALLAH gives
[11/5/2015, 5:45 PM] [Brother 5]: Yes Mufti Zarwali Khan, for sure...
[11/5/2015, 5:46 PM] [Brother 2]: Mufti saheb i don't blame them then :p but then again a lot of Karachi ulema are involved with a few groups too... So they role about with heavy fire power and people
[11/5/2015, 5:46 PM] [Brother 2]: A pity to see so many ulema gunned down by mqm over the years though...
[11/5/2015, 5:53 PM] [Brother 5]: I forgot to describe our meeting with Mufti Ebrahim Desai Saheb..
[11/5/2015, 5:55 PM] [Brother 5]: I asked for a 30 minute appointment but the day before the Ameer of You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login found out so he wanted to tag along with me.
Civil Servant, professional physically and verbally very imposing...very polite but nobody talks to him without stammering
He doesn't like non-nense at all so I am thinking this ought to be Interesting.
[11/5/2015, 5:58 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: lol okay .. go ahead
[11/5/2015, 5:59 PM] [Brother 5]: Mufti Ebrahim Saheb asked for our Introduction and then the meeting lasted nearly 2 Hours between Ameer Saheb and Mufti Saheb.
It was all around Business, Marketing, Tactics and where Darul-ulooms lacked compared to Business world.
Mufti Saheb sat in that position and asked question after question...Throughout only 1 Mas'ala of Fiqh was discussed.
After the meeting Mufti Saheb came out without shoes and walked and I think (opened the Door or held) the door for Ameer Saheb
[11/5/2015, 6:00 PM] [Brother 5]: Now Ameer Saheb is a Civil Servant and an accomplished Diplomat and never says a word un-necessarily about anything or anyone...
He is the kind of guy who thinks for 2 Hours and talks for 2 minutes. He has been around Ulama all his life.
[11/5/2015, 6:00 PM] [Brother 5]: He genuinely appreciates Mufti Ebrahim Desai and nothing to do with Fiqh, just as a person
[11/5/2015, 6:00 PM] [Brother 5]: Its amazing really.
[11/5/2015, 6:02 PM] [Brother 5]: I told him Ilmhub, he says who is running it...I said Mufti Faisal
He says these young Muftees have Fads, they come and go
I said he is student of Mufti Ebrahim Desai, his whole attitude towards IlmHub changes
[11/5/2015, 6:03 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: May Allah accept him, Ameen.. didnt know these datails of the meeting
[11/5/2015, 6:03 PM] [Brother 5]: I have seen him genuinely praise someone...He says this man is special! I am Jaahil so I don't know about his knowledge but as a person he is special!
[11/5/2015, 6:04 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: hehe
[11/5/2015, 6:04 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Mufti Saheb said about [Brother 5]:.. oh he is quiet guy ..and I am like WHAT?
[11/5/2015, 6:04 PM] [Brother 5]: I acted on the Maliki and skipped my Tahayatul-Masjid and watched Mufti Saheb perform his Sunnah of Asar just to take notes
[11/5/2015, 6:04 PM] [Brother 5]: Maliki Madhab
[11/5/2015, 6:05 PM] [Brother 5]: I never got a chance to say much
[11/5/2015, 6:06 PM] [Brother 5]: His Qiyaam, Ruku and Sujood are roughly equally spaced which is an unusual thing
[11/5/2015, 6:07 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: oh you watched him too.. I would spend rak'at after rak'at watching him pray his sunnahs
[11/5/2015, 6:08 PM] [Brother 5]: Yes I watched him in his Sunnahs.
His Salah is very proportional
[11/5/2015, 6:10 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Yes, Alhamdulillah..
I would listen to the ahadeeth of Sayiduna Anas radiallahu anhu watching Rasulullah ﷺ to observe his salah.. I would think to myself that is the visual representation of what we need to do to learn salah. So this is a habbit I have developed watching mashayekh praying..
[11/5/2015, 6:10 PM] [Brother 5]: I forgot something...
[11/5/2015, 6:13 PM] [Brother 5]: We got there a little early and nobody in theMasjid knew who was...
So slowly others came and a person came and everybody imagined to be Mufti Saheb so we sat respectfully.
A second person came roughly 5'7" white Jilbab (clean but not particularly ironed)...No socks, ordinary watch and glasses...Pen in the pocket and the whole Masjid ignore him.
Guess who Mufti Saheb was?
[11/5/2015, 6:15 PM] [Brother 2]: The latter
[11/5/2015, 6:16 PM] [Brother 5]: Yes...He came to the Masjid ignored by everyone...went through the the other door, did Wudhu and then came in nobody thought it would be Mufti Saheb
[11/5/2015, 6:17 PM] [Brother 2]: Is this when he visited the UK?
[11/5/2015, 6:17 PM] [Brother 5]: Yes Croydon
[11/5/2015, 6:17 PM] [Brother 2]: Mufti Yusuf sachas place?
[11/5/2015, 6:18 PM] [Brother 5]: Musallah in Croydon and not Mufti Yusuf Danke's Masjid....
[11/5/2015, 6:18 PM] [Brother 5]: Haris Hamaam met Mufti Saheb after us (I think)...
[11/5/2015, 6:27 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: Yes, HH met him as well on that trip
[11/5/2015, 6:27 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: But I dont know .. the anticipated discussion didnt really materialize because HH was like a very quiet student with Mufti Saheb
[11/5/2015, 6:39 PM] Mufti Abu Hajira: I think I did read it once .. but tbh it was before that that trip [Brother 5] that Mufti Saheb banned me to go to Sunniforum :) and  the ban continued for anothe 6-7 months ...
[11/5/2015, 6:40 PM] [Brother 5]: Maulana Ibraheem Patel (HH) is a very timid reserved guy in real life (as I have heard)...
[11/5/2015, 6:40 PM] [Brother 5]: So he wouldn't have said much
