    Muhammad ibn Sireen used to say:

    “We used to say that those amongst us with the most sins are
    those who spend their time talking about the sins of others.”

"One of the deceptions of Shaytan is that he persuades and encourages a person to sins
with the very excuse that Allah Ta'ala is Ghafur ur Raheem. This leads to indifference to the
laws of Shariah and even deliberate disobedience..."

All humans are dead except those who have knowledge;
and all those who have knowledge are asleep, except those who do good deeds;
and those who do good deeds are deceived, except those who are sincere;
and those who are sincere are always in a state of worry.

“The first step in knowledge is to listen, then to be quiet and attentive, then to preserve it, then to put it into practice and then to spread it.”

The world is 3 days:
As for yesterday, it has vanished along with all that was in it.
As for tomorrow, you may never see it.
As for today, it is yours, so work on it."

MashAllah, beneficial quotes! Jazakum Allahu khayran.

 Here is another one regarding seeking and acquiring knowledge by Imam Shafi'ee

Here goes my translation attempt at it:

"My brother, you cannot achieve knowledge except by six (qualities).
I shall soon inform you regarding the details of this statement
(The six qualities are): Intellect, Desire, Effort, Reaching it (seriousness and focused), Association with teacher, Spending a long time"

This dunya is like a shadow.
If you try to catch it, you will never be able to do so.
If you turn your back towards it, it has no choice but to follow you.
