Imam Ash-Shafi’ee used to say,
“Whenever I set myself the task to learn, I realize how little I know
& the more I learn, the more I realize how ignorant I am.”

Imam Muhammad Ibn Sereen;
"This knowledge is a matter of Deen, so be careful who you take your Deen from."

Hazrat Abdullah ibn Mubarak (Rahmatullahi ‘alayh) would often stay at home. He was asked: “Don’t you get lonely?”

He replied: “How could I get lonely when I am with the Messenger of Allah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) and his Companions - i.e. reading Hadith?”

Fight against your Ego with the four swords of training :

♦ Eat little
♦ Sleep little
♦ Speak little &
♦ Be patient when people harm you
Then the ego will walk the paths of obedience, like a fleeing horseman in the field of battle.

On hearing the call of the shepherd it stops grazing while man ignores the call of Allah for the sake of his desires."

Let's not be upset if Allah does not grant us our du'as immediately

But let's be grateful that Allah does not punish us immediately for our sins!
